Self Model Completed!

One Long Semester...

     After a long semester I finally finished my self model. I learned a lot this semester from this project and plan to continue my education in zBrush and organic models. Maybe even do a little rigging...MAYBE. Anyway here is my final render!

     I did a lot with post as well, I filled out the hair softened some shadows gave the shit some more definition and played with some exposures.

Before post editing
      Also I did a turn around in zBrush, I really like how the skin looks in zBrush more that when I converted it to maya. I know I have a lot more to learn when it comes to texturing in maya.

Finals Progress Post

Tumblr has ruined my frequency of posting on here...

      Since i got a tumblr I have stopped really posting on here, which i regret. I am still posting regularly on my tumblr though. I decided since finals are coming up that I'd do a progress post of everything I've been working on.

For my computer animation class we are wrapping up our character models with textures and final render processes.

In my motion graphics class it is a lot of reworking of projects, but we have to do a promotional poster for our pieces done in class.

In my interactive design class I am making a portfolio site and in the site there is going to be a walk cycle of my self character.

      So I have about 3 more weeks to go to finish everything, so back to the grim. ENJOY!

Corpse Bride End Credits

Finally Finished...

      Here is the final piece from my motion graphics class. We had to create either a beginning or end credit to any movie. I chose one of my favorite stop-motion animation movies: Corpse Bride. Here is a minute end credit to the movie:

      For this I used Adobe After Effects and concentrated on 3D layers. I had a lot of fun with this project and is probably my favorite I have done in After Effects.

Motion Graphics -Corpse Bride-

Vector Illustrations...

      For my motion graphics I am dong the end credits of the movie Corpse Bride. So I recreated the characters in Illustrator. It took a lot longer than I thought it would, so now I have to throw together a minute end credit piece by Thursday.

Bar Re-renders

One last time...

     I have spent way too much of my time as a Junior on this bar model, so this will probably be the last time I post about it. For Junior Reviews at my school I had to do some re-renders to present my bar model, so I did two different ones. Enjoy!

Zbrush AWAY...

      We've finally taken our model's into zBrush. I'm starting to get the hang of the program and I'm beginning to really like it. I really don't like starting from scratch, but I like starting from a base model. Now the challenge is to get the model to look like me. After I finish the minor details that will make it look like me, I will go in with skin textures to get it look realistic.

P!NK - Walk of Shame Motion Graphics

Walk this way...

        Here is my final version of my first project in Motion Graphics. I was having trouble uploading this, so it took me a week to get this up. I may revisit this and actually finish the song, because we only needed 20 - 40 seconds of video and I had 55 seconds without the title slate. I may have gone a little overboard with different fonts, so if I re-work it I might compress the number of different fonts I am using.

Frickle Puzzel -coding-

Frickle Pickle...

     So real quick here is a 450 line of code project I had to do for Interactive Design. I used a picture of my cat and "cut" it into 16 different pieces. Then I created 16 squares and positioned them on top of the big picture of Frickle. When a "puzzle piece" is dragged on top of it's respective square both disappears and it gives this illusion of the piece "snapping" into place. This took a big headache to finish, but it is done and turned out pretty cool!

Self-Model -Post 3-

Finished constructing the bust...

      So I finished the base model, and now as a class we are moving onto zBrush! When we bring our model's to zBrush we will be adding more detail and making our models look like ourselves. I am super excited to start diving into zBrush because I love to sculpt and I can't wait to learn how to digitally! Anyway enjoy!

- Preview - P!NK WalkofShame

Some motion graphics going on...

     Here is a screenshot of my project, which has about 40 layers and there is only about 20 seconds finished. The only part I don't like all that much is the line "One step..." cause I don't like the prints, so I may have to change that. I love the heels I did in illustrator though (pictured above). I am not going to do the whole song, I'm only going to do the first verse, so about 58 seconds.

I claim no rights to this song. It is completely owned by P!NK,
I was just very inspired by her new album.

Self-Model -Post 2-

Nose Knows...

Finished the nose and attached it. Everything isn't as smooth as I'd like it to be, but everything is starting to look nice. I especially like how my nose looks.

     This is probably one too many pictures, but I got a little screen capture crazy. The profile looks a little wobbly around the jaw line, but nothing a little playing around can't fix. Also where the ear attaches, I need to smooth it into the side of the face.

Interactive Design -Assignment 2-

Rain, rain go away...

    This week for interactive design we had to code a complex animating scene. I decided to do a raining scene, since it was raining tonight. When you move your mouse around the screen the little umbrella follows it while it is rotating slowly in the "wind".

Here is a screen shot
     It is a very simple code, but it took forever to figure out all the bugs I had with it. But it is pretty adorable. Enjoy!

Interactive Design -Assignment 1-

Basic shape design...

     For my Interactive Design class our first assignment was to create a simple design with shapes. We could also add small animations if we wanted. I did add some animation, but I don't know how to show the code on blogger.

     In this design, the stars rotate and the checkered behind the oval rotates the other direction. It took a long time to get everything positioned just right. Also to actually code everything took a little while. Here is an example of the coding of the animation.
function onFrame(event) {
star1.rotate(3);
star2.rotate(-1);
star3.rotate(2);
star4.rotate(3);
star5.rotate(-1);
star6.rotate(2);
star7.rotate(3);
star8.rotate(-1);
star9.rotate(2);
star10.rotate(3);
star11.rotate(-1);
star12.rotate(2);
checker.rotate(-1);
}

Self-Model -Post 2-

Finished a few features...

     I began to model the face to my reference of myself and have found out a few things out about my face. For one I have a very symmetrical face, also from what I modeled I don't have a very feminine face. However, it is just the first week so we will see how everything works out in the coming weeks!

Ear
Lips
       The only critique i have for myself right now is my neck muscle has too much definition. Overall I am having a lot of fun learning how to model faces on maya. Personally I think I'm learning pretty quickly.

Keyhole Commercial

NKtelco Keyhole Commercial...

      After my documentary NKtelco a local cable company took my footage and created a commercial. Isaac Sell did the editing of my footage and filmed the new footage of Keyhole Bob talking about coming to the Keyhole. Daryl Lawson and his band did the music in the background.

     I want to apologize for the skewing of the video, I think it has something to do with the file I was sent by NKtelco. So enjoy.

Self-Model -Post 1-

Beginning of a LOONG semester...

Reference Photo

   Okay, so this semester in my Computer Animation II class we are concentrating on one character model. I decided I am going to do a model of myself, because I know my face better than anyone else's. Before we start we began doing basic modeling techniques for human faces, so the model will have good edge flow.

Full Face w/o nose and mouth

       As you can see, we already finished a good amount of the basic face structure. All that we have left to do in class is the mouth and nose.
